BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- The man that was struck and killed by a Tri-Rail train early Thursday morning was the boyfriend of a 20-year-old woman found dead in her Boynton Beach home, according to Boynton Beach Police Officer Jaclyn E. Smith.

Marcline Demosthene was found dead in her bedroom Thursday morning at her home on NW 8th Street. She lived there with 35-year-old Steverson Altidor, Smith said.

Smith said Altidor fled the scene after the homicide and apparently stepped in front of an oncoming train on a southbound track between Glades Road and 900 NW 40th Street in Boca Raton.

Police have not released the cause of Demosthene's death, but did say "it does not appear that the victim was shot or stabbed."
