BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Rosa Nunez says she was sitting at her dining room table in her Boynton Beach home when she heard a commotion outside.

When she got up to see what the fuss was about, a bullet came flying through her living room window.

Now a week since a nearly deadly shootout between U.S. Marshals and a wanted fugitive that ended in a car crash at a local elementary school, some residents of a Boynton Beach community are speaking out.

Nunez said the bullet shot through her window, a dining room painting and kitchen cabinet. At the time, her seven-year-old son was doing his homework at the dining room table and took cover.

Nunez says she has lived in the Monterey Bay community for a while and never experienced anything like this.

She says it's a reminder that she can't even guarantee her safety in her own home.
