Boynton Beach police arrested a 24-year-old woman and charged her with child abuse after she allegedly bit her boyfriend's 6-year-old son.

Police says Rachael Bohbot admitting to biting the boy on the shoulder "a little harder than normal." She denied biting the boy on the thigh, but could not explain a bite-size bruise the boy had on his upper leg.

Police got involved when the boy returned to his mother after spending a weekend with Bohbot and her boyfriend, the child's father.

When the boy came home, it appeared he had been hurt. He was limping. The boy said that Bohbot bit him on the leg while playing the "bite game."

An investigating officer looked at the boy's thigh and saw a fairly fresh bite mark.

The boy then explained the game:

"It was a contest to see who can bite the hardest between he and Rachael," the report says. "[The boy] stated that he [lost] the game when his thigh was bruised."

If he won, the boy told police, his reward was the purchase of a different additions to his Halloween costume.

"[The boy] further state that despite this incident, he does not have any serious issues with Rachael," the report says.

Police met with Bohbot in the 500 block of Via Lugano Circle, where she denied playing the "bite game" and biting the boy.

But then she confessed to biting the boy on the shoulder and "she the stated this made [the boy] cry uncontrollably," the report says.

Bohbot said she tried to quiet the boy's crying by offering him a toy sword for Halloween. She had no reasonable explanation for how the bruise appeared on his thigh, the report says.

Police then charged Bohbot with child abuse and booked her in the Palm Beach County Jail, where she was later released on $3,000 bail.
