One person and a dog were rescued from a fire at a Boynton Beach home this morning, according to fire officials.

When rescue crews arrived at the home on the 1100 block of S.W. 18 St., in the senior community of Leisureville, they saw heavy smoke and a fire inside two rooms, fire rescue spokesman Steve Lewis said.

Lewis said the person inside the home during the fire was not injured, and the dog was taken to a local veterinary.

Both rooms sustained heavy damages, he said, adding that there was no information yet on what caused the fire.
