BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - There's a new source of pressure on a Boynton Beach Commissioner to resign.
Marlene Ross had asked the Palm Beach County State Attorney to investigate whether a political enemy was using a nude picture of herself to blackmail her for a political favor.
The Fraternal Order of Police in Tallahassee Tuesday distributed a letter to Boynton Beach Mayor Woodrow Hay urging Ross to resign, saying, "Anyone who appears before the commission will only have the image of a tawdry affair and an emperor who has no clothes."
The mayor said letters like that were not productive.
"I really would rather the law run its course with this whole thing. That's why we have the commission on ethics, that's why we have an inspector general. They need to do their job."
Ross said she was shocked by the letter because she has done nothing but support police services.
