BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - An online friendship turned into a real life problem for a woman in Boynton Beach.
Boynton Beach police say that Manoucheka Fortin was taken into custody late Friday night after she left her child with a person she had met on Facebook and went shopping.
Fortin, according to her arrest report, had 'friended' a man she met on Facebook, Pigge Berlus.
Berlus told police that although he had known Fortin online he had only met her in person twice.
Investigators say that Berlus drove Fortin to the Wal-Mart at 3200 Old Boynton Road at 1:55 pm.
Berlus said that he told Fortin that he had to be at work by 2 pm.
Police say that Fortin gave her baby to Berlus to watch without food, diapers or water while she went shopping at Wal-Mart .
Fortin, according police, did not have a cell phone and Berlus had no way of getting in touch with her.
Berlus waited an hour for Fortin and was late for work, according to police and then went to the customer service representative at the store and gave her the baby.
Police were called to the store and eventually found Fortin.
She was arrested and charged with child neglect.
