Man with dementia reported missing near Boynton Beach

An elderly man visiting family in the Boynton Beach area went missing Thursday.

Authorities are trying to find Gerald Guenther, 70, who apparently walked away from the 4000 block of Bougainvillea Road at about 4 p.m. Thursday, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The neighborhood is near Gateway Boulevard and Lawrence Road.

Guenther, of Edgewater, is in the early stages of dementia, officials said.

Guenther is 5-foot-11, about 160 pounds and has gray hair and blue eyes. He does not have any teeth.

He was last seen wearing a red jacket with a racing emblem, blue slip-on shoes and a black Vietnam veteran hat.
