BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- In the frantic 911 call made by the 34-year-old woman who was set on fire by her ex-boyfriend you can hear her pleading for help from dispatchers.

The man accused of the attack, 52-year-old Roosevelt Mondesir, was denied bond Tuesday morning at the Palm Beach County jail.

He was also denied a public defender because the judge said he made too much money.

When the judge asked if Mondesir could afford an attorney, Mondesir responded that he didn't have any money because the victim took all of his money.

CALL #2

The victim, Naomie Breton, and Mondesir have a four-year-old son together, whom police say Mondesir left at home alone when he went to attack Breton.

Before she was set on fire, you can hear her plead to Mondesir to get away from her in the surveillance video.

The clerk at the 7-Eleven on Lawrence Road in Boynton Beach is on the phone first, but the dispatcher can't understand her.

About a minute into the call, Breton picks up the phone.

"Hello," she said. "Hello."

"Yes, what's going on," the dispatcher asked.

"I just called and I had to hang up," Breton answered. "He set me on fire, OK. He set me on fire!"

After that Breton begged the dispatcher to have first responders hurry up because she was burning.

She also said Mondesir was still on the loose and that he had a knife.

Mondesir's boss told WPTV NewsChannel 5 she suffered burns to 15 percent of her body and is still in the hospital.

Story updated to clarify that Breton is still in the hospital.
