BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - In yet another effort to go green, Boynton Beach is set to celebrate art in motion. Kinetic art is already on display along Ocean Avenue in the center of town.
Artists used math, science and engineering to create each piece to harness wind water or solar power to move. The displays were put up ahead of the International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium to be held in Boynton Beach beginning February 8, 2013.
It's an opportunity for the public to learn about art that is environmentally friendly, and how creating green technology can benefit society.
"The kinetic motion is not using dirty fossil fuels to move, it's green energy. We hope to get people to come and learn how it moves," says Barbara Ready, a volunteer with the Boynton Beach Arts Commission.
Several events will be geared toward kids, encouraging them to study math and science. It's free and open to the public.
