BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach family may have been the victims of a hate crime.

The Blank family awoke to their Hanukkah decorations on the ground and destroyed.

Jeff Blank says the lawn ornaments were securely in the ground and couldn't have been knocked over by the wind.

Some of the PVC pipes and lights were broken.

"It's very, very upsetting, obviously," said Blank. "You know you come into a gated community and you think you're gonna have a greater sense of security. I feel somewhat violated by that."

The family says they're too disturbed to put the menorah and star of David decorations back up.

Blank says he called the sheriff's office, so there was a record of the incident.
