BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - An 11-year-old Boynton Beach girl helped deliver her aunt's 5th child.
Eulalia Francisco was home with her pregnant aunt last Thursday, when the unexpected happened. Her aunt went into labor, which was not expected to happen for another couple of weeks.
Francisco remained calm, and called 911.
"The baby is trying to come," Francisco told Shimika Rollins, the 911 operator.
Rollins has been on the job for 7 years. She coached Francisco on what to do.
"Being a mother myself no screaming or anything, it was pretty amazing that there was no reaction from the mom," said Rollins.
Minutes later Francisco met her new baby cousin.
"He is the cutest baby I've ever seen, " said Francisco.
The baby, Jose Francisco Juan, is doing well. He made quite an entrance. Now, Francisco has a new responsibility.
" Now I am in charge of the baby just because I called 911 for the baby. I always have to carry it, and I have to feed it," said Francisco.
