BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Marc Pierre, 79, of Boynton Beach is identified by police officers as the man who was killed in a crash involving a four vehicles and a trailer Friday afternoon. 

Stephanie Slater with the Boynton Beach Police Department said Pierre was driving west on Boynton Beach Boulevard when he rear-ended a pick-up truck that was stopped at ared light with his Acura.

The impact sent both vehicles into the intersection at Old Boynton Road, prompting the pick-up to hit another truck.

Pierre's Acura hit a trailer attached to another car, making the trailer hit a fifth vehicle.

The passengers of that car were transported to Bethesda Hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes of Boynton Beach Boulevard were shut down Friday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses of the accident are asked to call Traffic Homicide Investigator Daniel Griswold at 732-8116.
