BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Tri-Rail train passengers were evacuated Thursday afternoon after a small debris fire developed underneath the train while it was stopped at the Boynton Beach station, said Bonnie Arnold, spokeswoman for Tri-Rail.
The train affected was P639, which was southbound, Arnold said. The fire was discovered around 6 p.m.
Passengers were transferred to another train, 16 minutes after they were evacuated, Arnold said.
Tri-Rail mechanics were dispatched to the scene to inspect the train and find the cause of the debris fire, she said.
No one was injured in the incident.
