BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - An patient leaving Bethesda Memorial Hospital Tuesday could be facing jail time after Boynton Beach police say he attacked a 100-year-old grandfather clock in the hospital lobby.
Dallagrand Anderson, according to his arrest report, had signed himself out of the hospital against medical advice. Police say he became enraged for unknown reasons and then became violent against the security staff escorting him outside.
Police say that Anderson smashed a glass display with his fist and then went over to a grandfather clock and punched out the front glass door.
The arrest report says that he then ripped out one of the solid aluminum chimes over six feet long and swung it like a baseball bat at the security staff.
Anderson was arrested by Boynton Beach police on assault charges and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
