Boynton Beach offers youth pottery classes

Boynton Beach, FL - The Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department Art Center, 125 SE 2 Avenue, explores kids' creative sides with Claying Around class. Kids will learn the basic techniques of pottery including wedging and centering clay. The class will emphasize creating shapes including cylinders, bowls, saucers and flowerpots. Trimming and glazing techniques will also be taught. Students can expect to bring home a minimum of three fired and glazed pieces. For class information please call the Art Center at (561) 742-6221.

Ages: 8 thru 14. Sessions/Day/Time: June 15 through July 6 and July 13 through August 3, Tuesdays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; June 17 thru July 8 and July 15 thru August 5, Thursdays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fees: $32 Residents; $40 Non-Resident.

Pre-Registration is required. Registration takes place at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse, 2240 N. Federal Hwy., just south of Gateway Blvd. Hours: Tuesday thru Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.to  2 p.m. Bring proof of residency (current utility bill), and for children a birth certificate is required.
