BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - It took a couple of days, but Boynton Beach police now know the identity of a man who showed up at Bethesda Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon.
At the time he did not need medical care, but they didn't know who he was and he couldn't tell them.
Friday afternoon they identified him as Lowell Sutton, 91, of Port Charlotte, Florida.
We he initially appeared at the hospital Sutton had a piece of paper in his pocket with the name Leroy Lamar written on it.
Once police released his picture, and it appeared on websites, social media and television, officers fielded dozens of tips.
The Boynton Beach Police Department said detectives are still looking into the circumstances of Sutton's strange appearance at Bethesda and should have more information next week.
