A machete-wielding man threatened a woman during a home invasion in Boynton Beach Monday, police said.

The homeowner told police the man broke in her residence in the 200 block of SW 11th Avenue around 12:30 p.m. and demanded money.

He then ran off.

Prior to the home invasion, police say the man approached a mother and her 4-year-old son. They said he grabbed the child and told her the child would be hurt if she didn't give him money.

When she said she didn't have any money, the man let the child go and told her not to call police.

Police later found the suspect and identified him as 19-year-old Kerven Charles.

No one was injured in today's incidents.

Police have not revealed the exact charges Charles will face.
