BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - It was moment they'd all been waiting for.

"I was ready to see who won, and then when we won, I just went crazy," said Shawn Isaac, a Junior at Boynton Beach High, and a member of the choir.

"Words can't even express how I felt, I mean, I fell over it," said Genyce Galban, a senior and a member of the choir.

"It was just incredible to see the joy on their faces," said Sterling Frederick, course director at Boynton Beach High.

The win was a big surprise to students in the Dimensional Harmony choir, especially because they had just learned about the competition 3 days ago.

"I picked 20 students by doing quartets in class, and told them we were going to make a video, but didn't tell them what it was for," said Frederick.

Last week Frederick got the call saying they were finalists in the Today Show's "Show Choir Showdown."

The competition was tough, including some college choirs.

"I didn't even think we'd make the finals, I just thought we'd do it for fun, and only I know, so if it doesn't happen, then oh well," said Frederick.

115,000 votes later, America had spoken.

Like their school motto says, the group is "Living the Dream."

"We've been doing this for 10 years, and now on our tenth anniversary, this is when big things happen and this is big, it feels great to have everybody on our side and supporting us," said Juan Almonte, a sophomore and a member of the choir.

Even though only 20 will get hit the high notes in New York, the group remains in perfect harmony.

"We hope they have fun, and everything goes well, because they are still representing us," said sophomore choir member Cassandra Dieujususe.

"I'm going to remember this throughout my whole life, this is a year to remember," said Almonte.

The group has a little over 2 weeks to practice. They will be flying to New York on November 10 and performing live on the 11th.
