BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Authorities are searching for burglary suspects in the area of Gateway Boulevard and Congress Avenue this afternoon.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies, seeking an undetermined number of burglary suspects, are concentrating their efforts south of Gateway Boulevard, confirmed sheriff's spokesman Deputy Eric Davis.
Deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Northwest 14th Way at 11:40 a.m., Davis said. Initially, deputies concentrated their search efforts near Lawrence Road, which prompted the lockdown of Citrus Cove Elementary for an estimated 45 minutes. The lockdown has been since lifted.
With the help of the Boynton Beach Police Department, deputies are searching nearby apartment complexes such as Savanah Lakes for the suspects, Davis said. K-9 deputies have joined search efforts.
No additional information was immediately available.
