Self defense class offered

Boynton Beach, FL…The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department’s Civic Center is holding a new Self Defense Class for Teens and Women. Join instructors Richard and Will Amadon, both black belts in Kempo Karate, and learn a variety of simple techniques to become more aware of your surroundings in different situations and defend yourself.  A good technique is better than strength.

Session:  March 15 - April 19, Mondays from 5 – 6 p.m. Fees:  $40 Residents; $50 Non-Residents. The Civic Center is located at 128 E. Ocean Avenue. For more information, call (561) 742-6240.

Pre-Registration is required. Registration takes place at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse, 2240 N. Federal Hwy., just south of Gateway Blvd. Hours:  Tuesday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Bring proof of residency (current utility bill), and for children a birth certificate is required.
