BOCA RATON, Fla. - Boca Raton police are investigating a robbery that took place late Friday night at the Plaza Hotel.
According to the Boca Raton Police, the victim, Pamela Miller, told officers that after socializing with family members around the pool area, she returned to her room and saw a man with her laptap bag on his shoulder and searching through her luggage.
Miller said that she had been coming back and forth from the pool area to the hotel room through an unlocked sliding glass door.
After approaching the suspect, he pulled a black and silver handgun from his waist band and pointed it at Miller.
The suspect then ran out the main door and into the west parking lot, then south through the back parking lot. The victim was not injured in the altercation.
According to police, the suspect is a dark-skinned, black male, 25 to 40 years old, with short hair and is clean shaven. He is between 5'10" and 6' tall, with a muscular build. He was wearing a blue dress or polo shirt and jeans at the time of the robbery.
