BOCA RATON, Fla. - U.S. Representative Allen West spoke in Boca Raton Tuesday morning and touched on the shooting rampage in Arizona.
The Republican Congressman spoke at the Boca Lago Country Club for the West Boca Chamber of Commerce.
"It is with great sorrow that I have learned of the incident which led to the critical injury of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and several members of her staff," West said.
West says he is not going to stop his town hall meetings, but he is talking with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office about beefing up security.
Law enforcement officials at Tuesday's event say security was heightened at the breakfast.
West also spoke about his expectations in Congress. He is part of the GOP majority that took over the House on January 5.
