PBSO identifies victims in Boca Raton fatal crash

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Deputies have identified the two people killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday night in West Boca Raton.

Angelina Ferrarella, 85, and Donna Dangelo, 54, both of Boca Raton, died at the scene of the accident, according to a media release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The car’s driver, Liborio Ferrarella, 84, and two other passengers, Carlo Dangelo, 56, and Pete Dangelo, 19, all of Boca Raton, were seriously injured in the crash.

The driver of the other car, Joanne Luu, 19 and a passenger, Daniel Maplethorpe, 26, received minor injuries.

According to the media release, Luu was traveling northbound on State Road 7 and as she approached the intersection of Sandalfoot Boulevard she failed to stop at a red light and struck the eastbound car driven by Ferrarella.

The crash happened just after 8 p.m. in the area of Sandalfoot Boulevard and State Road 7.

PBSO’s report indicated drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the accident. Toxicological results are pending for Luu.
