BOCA RATON, Fla. - Two suspects, 19 and 14, are charged with armed burglary and grand theft after being caught breaking into a home, according to Boca Raton Police.
It happened about 10 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Northwest Sixth Street.
Resident Casey Gunnell told police he was called at a nearby restaurant when a neighbor saw two guys breaking into his house. Gunnell and a friend ran home and saw the front door ajar, police said.
After calling 911, Gunnell and his friend circled the house and saw two teenagers jumping over a fence in his backyard, according to the police report.
The 14-year-old suspect was found hiding under a car while the 19-year-old suspect, later identified as Vladimy Dormeus, ran north through the neighborhood but was arrested a short time later, police said.
Detectives recovered stolen electronics and jewelry that were found outside of Gunnell's home and in a neighbor's yard.
The unidentified juvenile told officers he was the lookout for Dormeus, who was armed with a BB gun, and that they targeted the house because it appeared no one was home and the front door was unlocked, according to the report.
