BOCA RATON, Fla. - A Tri-Rail train struck and killed a person around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday in Boca Raton.
Tri-Rail train P 623 hit a pedestrian south of Camino Real. The person's identity has not been released.
Tri-Rail service both north and southbound was disrupted for most of the afternoon.
The train was heading south when the incident happened.
Boca Raton police are investigating and are not sure if it was an accident, or suicide.
Buses were provided for passengers to transport them either to the Cypress Creek Station in Broward County or the Boca Raton station.
Trains are operating again, said Bonnie Arnold, director of marketing for Tri-Rail. However, she said that commuters are asked to choose alternate means of transportation since schedules are behind and out of order. The problem will continue through the evening, Arnold said.
