BOCA RATON, Fla. - Boca Raton Police say they have solved the recent robbery of a TD Bank.
They accuse Rodney Verbeck, 53, of Boynton Beach, of robbing the branch at 2301 North Federal Highway.
When they arrived they were told the bank was just held up.
At the time of the crime police say the teller told officers a male approached her station and asked to change some bills. As she was completing the request, the suspect showed her a note which read, “We have guns, give me your money.”
Officers say the teller complied and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash. They say the suspect did not show a weapon and after receiving the cash, walked out the front door of the bank.
The day after the robbery detective Ron Mello learned about a similar heist in Fort Pierce.
Police say the suspect was identified as Verbeck and his photograph matched a picture seen on surveillance video.
Police say a teller positively identified Verbeck.
He was arrested Friday and has been charged with robbery and grand theft.
