BOCA RATON, Fla. - A man police say crashed a car into a lake on campus at Lynn University Tuesday evening, then fled, is missing again.
Police say 19-year-old Jason Elk drove a Mercedes SUV into the lake in front of the WOLD Performing Arts Center, site of the 2012 Presidential Debate.
Witnesses told police they saw a man leave through the sunroof and flee south on campus on foot.
A Boca Raton Police Department dive team towed the car out of the lake. In the car, they found Elk's wallet and cell phone.
Elk was found Wednesday afternoon. However, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Elk was reported missing on Wednesday night.
He got into an argument with his sister and left the home on foot. He was last seen hiding out in his neighborhood, according to PBSO.
He was last seen wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt and no shoes.
Anyone with information about Elk's whereabouts is asked to their local police agency.
