BOCA RATON, Fla. - Next year Boca Raton will be home to a state-of-the-art neuroscience center.

The ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of construction on the Boca Regional Hospital campus.

Philanthropist Bernie Marcus donated $25 million for the institute which is named after him.

Doctors say nine out of ten people suffering brain tumors in Florida go out of the state for care. Soon people suffering from brain tumors, Parkinson's disease or stroke will have a place for treatment in Boca Raton.

The institute is scheduled to open in Spring of 2014.

Doctors says they're already fielding hundreds of calls from potential patients all over the country.
