BOCA RATON, Fla. - News of two alleged armed robberies on the FAU campus in Boca Raton in just a few days isn't sitting well with Morgan Pandula. She said, "I don't think there is any excuse for what's going on. We have a police department on campus, an FAU police department, and I don't understand how this is the second incident in less than a week's time. I don't feel safe there anymore."
The most recent victim was allegedly kidnapped by five men, forced to withdraw cash and taken to Broward County Wednesday night.
FAU Police Chief Sean Brammer told us today campus safety is a priority. "We have increased our presence and their safety is our paramount responsibility."
The Police Chief did not give us specifics on the increased presence. Meanwhile, for students like Morgan who attend night classes, campus escorts are available.
Police Chief Brammer said, "We have our Night Owls service which is a golf cart service that will pick you up at your classroom and take you to your car. And wait for you till you get in your car until you leave."
Anyone with information about the crimes, should contact FAU campus police at 561-297-3500.
