BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Boca Raton Firefighters are watching over a smoldering brush fire at Sugar Sand Park to make sure it doesn't re-ignite.

Crews were posted near Palmetto Park Road after knocking down a five-acre fire that started around 1 p.m.

The fire is 99 percent contained.

They are concerned that high winds could kick it back up.

A park ranger who reported the fire to 911 says she saw smoke in an area that is fenced off to the general public.

She says that the smoke quickly gave way to orange flames and that she evacuated several children who were playing in a nearby playground.

No one was injured.

Firefighters are investigating the cause.
