BOCA RATON, Fla.-- Two people are in custody after an armed robbery Wednesday outside of a post office in Boca Raton.

Police say a woman was climbing back into her car at the post office at 604 Banyan Trail when a man flashed a gun and told her to give him her purse.

After she did what she was told the gunman pointed the weapon at her husband who was behind the wheel, police said.

He then turned over his wallet and the suspected robber fled to a nearby parking lot.

After his wife went into the post office for help, her husband followed the suspect and watched as he got into the passenger side of a small Chevrolet.

He followed the man and the driver to Highland Beach where car entered a complex that had only one entrance and exit.

Boca Raton police, along with Highland Beach police, Delray Beach officers and Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies were able to seal off the area. Boca Raton officers say they found the driver and passenger in the water hiding under a dock.

The driver was later identified as Annette DiCocco, 33, of West Palm Beach. Police say property belonging to the victims was found in her purse.

Her alleged accomplice was identified as Brian Reed, 35, of Naples.

Police say he had been serving several felonies and was recently released from prison.

A silver pellet gun was discovered in bushes near the Chevrolet suspected of being used in the getaway.

Police charged Reed and DiCocco with armed robbery. In addition Reed was charged with giving a false name when he was arrested.
