BOCA RATON, Fla. - A suspicious package prompting an evacuation of a Boca Raton temple turns out to be a duffel bag full of religious books.
Young Israel of Boca Raton Rabbi Eliyahu Rabovsky said, "There use to be a time where you didn't have to worry about what was being dropped off at the door. In this day and age you have to. You can't be to cautious."
People inside of the building located on the 7200 block of Palmetto Circle North had to been evacuated at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, as The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office bomb squad and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue's special operations truck investigated what looked like a suspicious package.
The K-9 unit walked around the surrounding neighborhood as well.
Rabbi Rabovsky asks any who would like to donate anything to the synagogue to avoid dropping it at the door.
Make sure you bring the package inside, he asks.
