WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - One man was rushed to the hospital and another was taken into custody  Friday evening after the car they were in crashed on Interstate 95, north of Yamato Road, after fleeing police during a routine traffic stop, according to Officer Sandra Boonenberg, spokeswoman for Boca Raton Police Department.

Police attempted to make a traffic stop on Glades Road around 6:30 p.m. when the men took off. The car crashed and rolled over on the interstate,  Boonenberg said. She said it is not known why the men fled police.

One man was taken to Delray Medical Center in serious condition, said Assistant Fire Chief Michael Gergora. The other man was arrested.

The northbound lanes of I-95 between Glades and Yamato roads were closed while police conducted an investigation, Boonenberg said.
