SUBURBAN BOCA RATON, Fla. - A suspicious package was found just after 5 a.m. Friday, in the 9900 block of Sandalfoot Boulevard.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies and the bomb squad were called to the scene after a deputy on rounds discovered a fire-proof safe.

Eastbound lanes of Sandalfoot Boulevard were closed for a time.

The area of the discovery is near a residential area, and it's also by an area where there's propane, so authorities were  being extremely cautious.

Bomb handlers also took precautions handling the safe because tomorrow is the anniversary of 9/11.

It was later determined the safe was not a threat.
