The carjacking suspect who was killed in a shooting involving a police officer on the 4000 block of North Military Trail near Spanish River Boulevard Friday has been identified as 20-year-old Adam Christian Donohue, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office.
The Boca Raton Police Department said the shooting happened around 9 p.m. Friday night.
Police accused Donohue of carjacking a taxicab.
Before the taxicab theft, investigators responded to an attempted carjacking of a Comcast truck on NW Fourth and 20th street in Boca Raton, in which police believe the suspect was involved.
Boca Raton Police Chief Dan Alexander said multiple officers were in a "violent struggle" with the suspect and multiple gun shots were fired.
Donohue was shot twice in the chest.
The sheriff's office identified Brian Pare as the officer involved in the shooting and Chris Bradley as the officer who deployed a Taser during the struggle.
