About 500 baby sea turtles will be released into the wild Thursday in South Florida.
Crew members from the Coast Guard station in Fort Lauderdale and scientists with Gumbo Limbo Nature Center will release the hatchlings off the coast of Boca Raton.
The release is scheduled to happen around 1:30 p.m.
The hatchlings come from nests at beaches across the state.
The turtles are being released into the wild as part of a program run by the center.
