OKEECHOBEE, Fla. - On Thursday, March 10th, the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office arrested Amber Koebernik for aggravated child abuse with serious bodily injury.

Earlier in the week, deputies arrived at Raulerson Hospital, in reference to a Department of Children and Families investigation.

Hospital personnel informed the authorities that the child had arrived with three fractured ribs, a bruised liver, and a punctured lung.

In an interview, Koebernik said the child felt warm, as if she had a fever, and was advised by her father to call 911 for an ambulance.

The child was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Palm Beach County.

Koebernik claimed she had no idea the child was hurt.

According to officials, the child's condition has improved.
