OKEECHOBEE, Fla. - Detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing in Okeechobee.
According to Michele Bell, Public Information Officer for the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office, the homicide occurred around 4:30 Saturday morning in the 3400 block of NW 16th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, deputies found the body of a 29-year old Hispanic male that had been stabbed in the chest. The victim died at the scene, says Bell. His identity will not be released until next of kin is notified.
A suspect has been taken into custody. Manuel Navarro, 50, was seen walking from the scene and was apprehended, confirms Bell.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive at this time.
The case remains under investigation with Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.
