TEQUESTA, Fla. - The Village of Tequesta will soon house relics from 9/11.
Dozens of people gathered Tuesday evening to send off three village firefighters and two police officers.
They are traveling to New York to pick up two, six foot steel beams from the World Trade Center.
They will be brought back and placed permanently at the Tequesta Public Safety Memorial.
The beams will be transported in the back of a fire rescue unit.
The group is expected to return Friday night.
