TEQUESTA, Fla. - A male was injured in a traumatic personal watercraft accident after hitting a sandbar in the Intracoastal near 19000 Beach Road in Tequesta, according to Peter Allen, spokesman for Tequesta Fire Rescue.
Paramedics were dispatched at approximately 4:30 p.m. The patient will be transported St. Mary’s Medical Center via Trauma Hawk, according to authorities.
The man's injuries are not expected to be life threatening, according to fire rescue crews.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
