RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - There's surfing and boogie boarding, but what happens when you're itching to catch a wave and there aren't any out in the ocean?
You can bodyboard or flowboard. Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach played host to the first ever Pro/Am U.S. Flow Series Tour on Saturday.
The Flowrider Double is a new attraction at Rapids Water Park. The wave simulator moves thirty-thousand gallons of water per minute allowing riders to take turns in the curl riding waves at speeds of 35 miles per hour.
This isn't a sport only for the young, 66-year-old Richard Ruvido took his turn.
"Age has a lot to do with the body but my mind is still young and I invite all those guys out there my age to come out and enjoy it," said Ruvido.
Rapids Water Park is one of seventeen U.S. locations on this tour.
