PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -

A West Palm Beach man was arrested Sunday in Palm Beach on charges of cocaine possession and driving while his driver’s license was suspended.

Jessie O. Bourgeois, 25, was incarcerated at the Palm Beach County Detention Center.

Bourgeois was arrested after parking his 2003 Cadillac in front of an unmarked Palm Beach police vehicle on Royal Palm Way at around 4 p.m. A police records check revealed that Bourgeois’s driver’s license was suspended May 31 for failure to pay a traffic citation.

Police said Bourgeois consented to a search of the car, and that the search turned up a plastic bag containing 0.8 grams of cocaine. Bourgeois told police he bought the cocaine for his girlfriend the night before, according to the arrest affidavit.

Cocaine possession is a third-degree felony.
