SUBURBAN PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Two people suffered serious burns in an explosion Thursday night in Palm Beach Country Estates, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
Both patients were taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, said Capt. Albert Borroto, Fire Rescue spokesman.
One was flown by Trauma Hawk, Borroto said. The other patient had less severe injuries and was driven to the hospital by ambulance.
The incident happened before 11 p.m. in the 16000 block of 78th Drive North, which is west of Florida's Turnpike between Indiantown and Donald Ross roads in northern Palm Beach County.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation. There was a report of an explosion on a boat while the people were working on it, Borroto said.
