Lanes reopen after tractor trailer car carrier explodes on Turnpike

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - A tractor trailer car carrier traveling southbound on the Turnpike burst into flames on Tuesday night just before 8:00 p.m, according to Florida Highway Patrol dispatchers.

"The fire caused an explosion," said an FHP dispatcher.

Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire near the Bee Line Highway exit.

No one was injured, according to Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue.

Four high-end cars were a total loss.

All lanes reopened at approximately 10:30 p.m.
