Suspect arrested in attempted robbery of Palm Beach Gardens bank

PALM BEACH GARDENS — On Friday, city police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an attempted bank robbery Tuesday.

Michael Liebman was charged with robbery of a business and false report of a bomb, both second-degree felonies. Liebman, whom police said has no permanent address, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

Police say Liebman tried to rob a Citibank branch in the 11500 block of U.S. 1 just before 4 p.m. Tuesday. He gave a teller a note implying he had a bomb. He then fled without either taking any cash or injuring anyone.

Police say bank security cameras recorded images of Liebman.
