For the wives, it's a chance to reunite with relatives, and celebrate another safe return from deployment. "The opportunity to spend family time and relax and have a nice room in a beautiful resort to just hang out, it's just wonderful," said Sheila Kissinger one of many military wives taking part in PGA National's Labor Day Salute to the Military.

For the men themselves, men who have dedicated their lives and safety to protecting our American way of life, it's quite simply, relaxing. "We've just been relaxing, taking advantage of the weather, and just spending time here at the pool," said Maj. Michael Pelak, US Marines.

This annual event, now in it's third year, is in full swing, and active duty servicemen and women dove right into the festivities, including discounted golf, food and a free nights stay at the luxury resort. "It's a way that PGA National can really give back to the community and really thank these guys and ladies for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis for this country," said Craig Falanga, the Director of Marketing for the PGA resort.

And while the families enjoy this rare moment of peace together, those called to duty, are quite simply, glad for a break. "It's amazing. We don't get it every day. It's like a special occasion. Being in the military, we're always away. Just having the family together and everything is amazing," said Staff Sgt. Jose Burgos-Mercado, US Army.
