PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- A 20-year-old woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter for a deadly accident that occurred last September in Palm Beach Gardens.
Sabrina J. Gavagni Fiorentino was booked into Palm Beach County Jail at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday and was placed on $5,000 bond during her first appearance in court Thursday morning.
Police say Fiorentino was under the influence of alcohol and making a U-turn with her Kia when she collided with a Ford Explorer traveling east on Northlake Boulevard just before midnight on Sept. 29, 2011.
19-year-old Bryanna N. Sanville, the passenger of the Kia, was killed instantly when the Explorer struck the passenger door. Police say she was not wearing a seatbelt.
Fiorentino, 19 at the time, was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center.
The Ford Explorer's driver, Dora J. Valencia, was also taken to the hospital with her two passengers: a boy and Viviana Silva, a 19-year-old girl. They were treated and released.
