A gunman fired several shots at a pair of police officers, hitting one, and held two hostages for nearly nine hours - but all came away from the standoff without serious injuries.

LAKE PARK, Fla. - A Lake Park man has died after being shot in the head Saturday night at a child's birthday party.
Eric Davis, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, says Dane Wayne Coley did not survive the gunshot wound to his head.
The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday evening in the 800 block of Greenbriar Drive in Lake Park.
Davis says Coley, 42, was standing alone in the carport area when he was shot.
The victim was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, says Davis.
Deputies have no suspect or motive for the shooting.
Crime scene investigators, detectives and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fatal shooting.
