JUPITER, Fla. - The body of Brian K. Labbee, 47, was found in the water near Burt Reynolds Park Saturday morning, according to Officer Adam Brown with the Jupiter Police Department.
Labbee was reported missing Friday night.
Office Brown says Labbee was fishing in the area with friends and jumped from the bridge off 1000 U.S. Highway 1 into the water. He swam out into the water and after failing to return, the Jupiter Police Department was notified.
Jupiter Police Department personnel, the Jupiter Police Department Marine Unit, along with members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, and the United States Coast Guard responded in a joint effort to search for Labbee.
After a focused effort, the search was suspended at approximately 1:00 A.M., and the search resumed at dawn.
At 7:48 A.M., the body of Labbee was found in the water near Burt Reynolds Park, according to Officer Brown.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
