JUPITER, Fla. - Three people, including a child, were injured in a severe traffic accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 north of Indiantown Road in Jupiter Saturday evening.

The child and one adult were seriously injured and airlifted by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary's Medical Center, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

A third person was taken by ground by Martin County Fire Rescue crews to a local hospital, Borroto said.

The accident happened a few minutes after 9 p.m. All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 by Jupiter were closed for a short time to allow Trauma Hawk to land.
